During the Harvest Festival in Corrales Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, the Corrales Historical Society will host a Heart of Corrales Fiesta.

“Corrales Historical Society invites you to join in all the fun at Historic Old San Ysidro Church, 966 Old Church Road in Corrales, Saturday, Sept. 30, and Sunday … It’s the last stop on the hayride – and one of the most fun,” a press release states.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be free music in the old church. Performers of traditional New Mexican, Latin and folk music will be center stage inside, including Eli del Puerto Duo, bilingual songs and New Mexican music; Grupo Fiesta Trio playing traditional New Mexican music and folk and rock with a New Mexican twist; Mezcla Latina Quartet playing Spanish, Mexican and New Mexican music; and Bayou Seco Duo playing a wide range of fiddle and banjo folk tunes from New Mexico to Louisiana and beyond.

CHS also invites people to try modeling clay and coloring.

There will also be a display of the history of horses in Corrales.

CHS archives will have antique utensils and tools on display, including cauldrons, a wine press and a cider press. People will be able to try corn grinding and butter churning.

The Popular pie walk returns for a sixth year as well.

All proceeds go to the preservation of the Old Church.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the formation of Corrales Historical Society.
