There’s a bevy of new business coming to Rio Rancho.

You just have to know how to read the signs.

Literally.

Signs announcing openings or “coming soon,” are popping up like mushrooms after a, well, monsoon.

On Southern Blvd., for instance, a Mister Car Wash sign says one is opening soon there.

It’s not alone. There’s a Champion’s Xpress Car Wash under construction at Northern Blvd. and NM 528.

There are also new businesses popping up on U.S. 550 not far from the Sandia Resort & Casino. A Starbucks just opened on 550. A medicinal pot shop announces its plan to open in a shuttered IHop.

And there’s a Del Taco sign noting that it, too, is coming soon.

Fitting. After some recreational pot, 37 tacos and a diet Coke sound pretty good.

But there are also two storage facilities coming. One is on Northern Blvd. The second is on 528.

And in a small shopping center at Rockaway Blvd and 528, new business includes offices for Domino’s Pizza, a Truly Nolen Pest & Termite control, and a Kirtland Credit Union.

Still another business that has opened on Northern includes an auto shop. And the female owner of an auto repair shop that is expanding in Albuquerque, wants to bring her business to Rio Rancho.

There’s a saying at the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce: Open for business.

Seems like business owners are taking that saying all the way to the bank.
