Crews will close Golf Course Road at Westside Boulevard for two weeks starting Monday so they can lay a 20-inch raw water transmission pipeline across the intersection on behalf of the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority.
Two shifts of crew members will work a combined 16 hours a day, seven days a week, to get this work done as quickly as possible, according to a water authority news release. Golf Course Road is scheduled to reopen by or before May 2.
Regular work hours will be 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. Barricades will remain in place 24 hours a day for safety.
According to the release, detours are:
- Eastbound motorists on Westside will be detoured south on Coors Bypass and then west on Ellison Drive to access Golf Course.
- Westbound motorists on Westside will be detoured south on Coors Bypass and then west on Ellison to access Golf Course.
- Northbound motorists on Golf Course will need to turn right and head east on Ellison, and then north on Coors Bypass to access Westside and Golf Course.
- Southbound motorists on Golf Course will need to turn left and head east on Westside, then south on Coors Bypass and then west on Ellison to access Golf Course.
