Sandoval County Clerk Anne Brady-Romero raised awareness about a fundraiser set up for the family of Froylan Villegas, who was fatally shot, and his cousin, Tatiana Villegas, who was was critically injured when someone fired 17 shots at their truck while they were leaving an Albuquerque Isotopes baseball game last week.
“The young lady that was shot five times in Albuquerque at the Isotopes game, along with her 11-year-old cousin, the 11-year-old passed,” Brady-Romero said at the Sept. 13 Sandoval County Commission meeting. “Tatiana is a resident of Algodones, and her and her family are in need of funds.”
The GoFundMe is organized by Beverly Villegas, Tatiana’s mother, and has already raised more than $32,000 for the family.
The GoFundMe page reads:
“Our family experienced a horrible tragedy on September 6, 2023 as we were leaving a baseball game. A vehicle passed by our vehicle and shot at our family killing our beloved Froylan and injuring our daughter Tatiana. Tatiana is now going to have extensive therapy for her to recuperate. We as her family are asking on her behalf for any help that you can spare to help cover any living expenses that are incurred while she is recovering. Funds collected will also be used for our family while we are out of work to help Tatiana with her recuperation and grief of our beloved Froylan. This is such a horrific tragedy for our family to endure and do not wish for this on any one. Please keep our family in your prayers especially Tatiana as she has a long recovery ahead of her. Your help and prayers will be most greatly appreciated.”
Tatiana was driving her truck when the suspect fired shots toward the car. Froylan’s mother and 4-month-old brother were in the truck and were unharmed.
Tatiana suffered five bullet wounds.
“Froylan was murdered in cold blood. Tatiana was left with five bullet wounds and paralyzed from the waist down. This act has left our family shattered,” the Villegas family wrote in a statement.
Albuquerque Police Department is looking for a newer model Dodge Durango SRT in connection with the shooting.

APD released this photo of the suspect vehicle, far right, moments before a road-rage shooting.
