Listen to the story.
It was an anxious morning for at least one balloon team early Friday.
They were very, very busy, wrestling with getting their partially deflated balloon out of the road at about 9 a.m.
The balloon apparently landed next to Iris Rd. NE in Rio Rancho, and then collapsed onto the roadway, not far from NM 528. Traffic was hampered in both directions. Houses were nearby and some residents were out taking photos.
Traffic was forced to drive around the balloon.
Balloons Friday were hovering all over Rio Rancho, one day before the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, which starts Saturday.
