The Mayor’s Sunday is Funday is the 17th annual event that brings our community together for an afternoon of fun and sharing what’s going on in Rio Rancho.

In 2021, well over 6000 of our neighbors came together to enjoy one of the coolest and most exciting events of the summer.
We have some exciting events and musical entertainment, along with budget friendly food, at this fun family style picnic.

The booth participants each bring their own creativity and entertainment.

Over 120 booth vendors occupying over 145 booth spaces including sponsors such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, The Learning Experience, UNM Health, PNM, Waste Management and New Mexico Bank and Trust will be there to tell their stories.

You can check the Map of booths and events at www.rioranchofunday.com

Our schedule of entertainment includes the Rio Rancho High School Band, Rio Rancho Youth Chorus and several favorite and artistic dance groups interspersed with tunes from our DJ Steve’s Pro Sound.

Fun activities include multiple jumps for kids, rock climbing wall, mechanical bull, swimming pool, Smokey Bear Balloon and Fire engine, and PMI Helicopter. Orbit from the Isotopes will be dropping by and Blue Bear and Bubbles the Elephant are likely to be found roaming the park.

The Raffle includes Lowe’s gas grills, Home Depot tools, TV, jewelry, balloon rides, Premier Movie Tickets, Muzzle Guitar, monthly dinners for a year, and many other great items from our local businesses like Massage Envy, T.J. Evergreen, Latitudes, Harris Jewelry, Elevate and Pet Smart.

A list of items and contributing business will be listed on our web page under Raffle.

The Knights of Columbus will be cooking hot dogs and hamburgers, Civitan will have their roast corn, the Key Club will be selling Dion’s Pizza and we have food trucks including Rollin n Hot, Menchie’s, Dawgs for a Cause, Hot Stuff and a few others.

Parking for the event will be at parking lots marked with Sunday is Funday signs along Grande Blvd between 19th Ave and Sara Ave, and First Baptist Church after noon. The Map for Parking is the last item under the Booth and Map selection on the web page.

The Boys and Girls Club vans will be shuttling from parking to the park and back.

The Mayor’s Sunday is Funday is coordinated by the Rio Rancho Kiwanis Club; with the assistance from City of Vision Civitan, Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scout Troop 714 and Kiwanis High School Key Clubs. After paying event expenses, proceeds will benefit youth programs in Rio Rancho.

Please come and join the fun!
