SANTA ANA PUEBLO  Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel is teaming up with Unicor LLC to host a free community shredding event on Saturday, April 30, between 9 a.m. and noon.

“Now more than ever it’s extremely important to combat identity theft, and this free service is safe, secure and environmentally friendly,” said Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel Director of Marketing Tammy Neil. “This event makes it an easy and convenient way for our community residents to securely dispose of sensitive documents since the material collected gets shredded onsite.”

Guests are invited to bring paper documents to the event, where they will be securely destroyed and recycled. Unicor LLC will be accepting paper documents for destruction, and guests can each bring a maximum of two cardboard boxes or one standard trash bag of paper to the event. All documents will be securely destroyed and then recycled. This is a free event open to all members of the community.

According to the 2022 Identity Fraud Study by Javelin Strategy & Research, more people are personally paying out of pocket for fraud and identity fraud losses in 2021 reached a total of $52 billion and affected 42 million U.S. consumers.
