ALBUQUERQUE — Casey Olson sees much promise in expanding Dutch Bros Coffee’s presence into Albuquerque’s Ventana Ranch neighborhood.

“I think it’s just an awesome area with a lot going on. It’s growing a ton, just totally family-oriented,” said Olson, the operator of the coffee chain’s Bernalillo location and two Rio Rancho locations.

That’s why he’s preparing to launch location No. 4 in that section of the West Side, aiming to open by early to mid-June.

The store will be at 9600 Universe Blvd. NW, just north of the intersection with Paseo del Norte. The 840-square-foot building will feature a double-lane drive-thru, ensuring customers can get their morning lattes quickly and be back on the road.

As in Rio Rancho, Olson said the Ventana Ranch location will have a turnoff lane into that lot space.

Olson looks to serve community members who may have children attending schools in and around Ventana Ranch, given at least a half-dozen schools are within a one-mile radius of the new location.

There’s also a site near Cottonwood Mall in the works, but that opening date’s still to be determined.

“We want to be able to service all of Albuquerque in the future. As we grow, we want to make sure we can maintain our culture and stuff,” Olson said. “We have some of the best customers in the world, for sure. They always show so much appreciation to us, and we just always want to show it back to them, give the love back out the window.”
