The US Bank girls’ swimming and diving state meet was held Feb. 19 at the Albuquerque Academy Natatorium.

The Cleveland High girls team finished one spot better than it did in 2021, placing 14th. The Rams girls were 19th, matching their 2021 finish. Host Albuquerque Academy won the girls’ meet.

Both teams sent a small contingent to state, so top-10 team finishes weren’t expected.

The Rams’ Tarra Adamson had the city’s best finish, as she was third in 1 meter diving. Cleveland’s Courtney Trotter was ninth in that event, after she had finished third last year.

Ava Schlosser of CHS was eighth in the 50-freestyle.

No other individuals or relay teams finished in the top eight, considered the finals; the Storm’s 200-medley relay team was 10th.

The state boys’ meet was held Feb. 16, also at Academy; the Storm boys placed seventh and the Rams boys were 12th.

Complete results from both meets are posted at nmact.org.
