Pinetree Rd.’s southbound lane will be closed from Nov. 14-18, according to the City of Rio Rancho.
The city will be removing trees in that area.
“Tree roots have damaged this roadway over time. Tree removal is occurring so that this does not happen again with the new roadway,” Deputy City Manager Peter Wells said.
The tree removal is the start of the reconstruction process for Pinetree Rd. The project is expected to officially start in 2023, Wells said.
The current closure runs from Oakmount Dr. to the post office.
There will be a detour in place that uses Oakmount Dr. to Country Club Dr.
