RIO RANCHO, N.M. — Defined Fitness will complete construction on its location in Enchanted Hills in September.
The New Mexico-based gym has been locally owned for over 32 years. Defined Fitness purchased the land 10 years ago in hopes of Rio Rancho expanding, said the gym’s spokeswomen Maria Lamar.
“We are happy to say that Rio Rancho has grown significantly and we can accommodate not just one but two clubs,” Lamar said.
The gym on 4400 Jager Drive will be called the Rio Club.
Construction on the 38,000-square-foot facility began last year. Defined Fitness utilized many local contractors for the build, she said.
The Rio Club will have over $1 million worth of equipment. The gym will offer small-group training and indoor/outdoor turf areas for training, Lamar said.
It has a pool, hot tub, two saunas and HydroMassage beds with dedicated recovery rooms. Defined Fitness also includes a kids club.
Pre-sale is open for the Defined Fitness location at defined.com, by clicking on the “Rio Club now open for pre-sale” tab.
In addition to the Rio Club, later this year, construction on another Defined Fitness facility will begin at Hilltop Plaza where the Kmart used to be.
The company is going to close the gym by Dion’s near High Resort once construction is completed at its Hilltop location, Lamar said.
“For us, to be able to grow the Defined Fitness brand to what it is today is something we are extremely proud of,” she said. “Being open for decades shows we are committed to the health and fitness of our state.”
