COVID cases and test positivity rates edged down slightly today, compared to yesterday, in New Mexico.
According to the New Mexico Department of Health, the state recorded 407 new cases and a test positivity rate of 6.9 percent, compared to 440 cases and 7 percent Wednesday. However, today saw one more COVID-related death than Wednesday, 17 compared to 16.
Four of the deaths counted today were from more than 30 days ago, while five deaths noted yesterday happened more than a month ago. That means both days recorded 12 new COVID-related deaths.
As of today, 225 individuals are hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19.
Also, 469,859 COVID-19 cases are designated as having recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health.
