COVID-19 hospitalizations in New Mexico continue to gradually plunge.
The New Mexico Department of Health reported 48 people are hospitalized in the state for COVID-19 as of Wednesday. Six of those patients are on ventilators as of Wednesday.
Between Tuesday and Wednesday, NMDOH added a combined 303 new COVID-19 cases and a combined 17 new COVID-19 deaths during that two-day span.
The test positivity rate on Tuesday was about 2.5 percent, while Wednesday’s test positivity rate was about 2.2 percent.
Latest vaccination numbers
As of Tuesday, 83.9 percent of Sandoval County adults have completed their primary COVID-19 vaccination series.
Statewide, 77.9 of New Mexico’s adults have completed their primary vaccination series as of Tuesday, and 46.3 percent of the state’s adults have received a booster dose.
For children ages 12 to 17, 61.7 percent of that group have completed their vaccination series as of Tuesday. For children ages five to 11, 31.6 percent of that group have completed their vaccination series.
