COVID-19 cases and the latest test positivity rate both continue to decline in New Mexico, and statewide hospitalizations are at their lowest number since early August.
The state reported 680 new cases and a test positivity rate of 7.1 percent over the last three days, the state Department of Health announced in a press release Monday. There are 228 people hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19 as of Monday, the lowest number August 6, 2021. There were 216 hospitalizations as of that date.
Sandoval County reported 44 new cases Monday. ZIP code 87144 (northern Rio Rancho) was tied for the ninth-highest case count by ZIP code, with 16.
A female in her 30s from Sandoval County was among the 17 new COVID-19 deaths reported on Monday. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions.
