New Mexico’s COVID-19 test positivity rate continues to gradually drop.

The state had a test positivity rate of 5.6 percent — down 0.9 percent from Friday — over the last three days with just 694 total cases over that period of time, the New Mexico Department of Health said in a press release on Monday.

Also, 177 people are hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19 as of Monday, the lowest count since Aug. 3, 2021. There were 180 statewide hospitalizations that day.

Sandoval County reported 46 new cases Monday. ZIP code 87124 (southern Rio Rancho) was tied for the fourth-highest case count by ZIP code, with 26.

There were 16 new COVID-19 deaths reported on Monday. However, none of which were Sandoval County residents.
