The roller coaster ride that is the daily COVID-19 hospitalization count continues, currently trending upward.

The New Mexico Department of Health reported Tuesday there are currently 55 people hospitalized in the state for COVID-19, including one patient on a ventilator.

There were 33 people hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19 this past Friday, and that number bumped up to 43 as of Monday.

NMDOH also reported 165 new COVID-19 cases (with a test positivity rate of about 3.7 percent) and 12 new COVID-19 deaths as of Tuesday. The three-day test positivity rate reported Monday was about 3.4 percent.

Since the start of the pandemic, New Mexico’s accumulated 523,023 COVID-19 cases and 7,528 COVID-19 deaths.
