COVID-19 hospitalizations in New Mexico dipped considerably as of Friday, but the state’s test positivity rate is still trending upward.
The state Department of Health reported Friday there are 75 people hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19, including 10 patients who are on ventilators. That’s down by 20 from Thursday, when NMDOH reported 95 hospitalizations for COVID-19.
However, NMDOH also added 636 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, with a test positivity rate of about 7.2 percent.
Since the start of the pandemic, New Mexico’s accumulated 529,336 COVID-19 cases and 7,675 COVID-19 deaths.
