COVID-19 death and hospitalizations counts are still trending downward in New Mexico.
The state Department of Health reported nine new COVID-19 deaths Wednesday, plus 105 statewide hospitalizations. The last time New Mexico saw fewer than 10 daily COVID-19 deaths came in early October. The latest hospitalization count is also the lowest since July 23, 2021.
As of Wednesday, 14 people hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19 are on ventilators.
The state also reported 233 new cases Wednesday, with a test positivity rate of about 2.6 percent.
Latest COVID-19 vaccination numbers
As of Tuesday, 77.6 percent of New Mexico adults have completed their vaccination series, and 45.5 percent of adults in the state received their booster doses.
As of Tuesday, 83.4 percent of Sandoval County adults have completed their vaccination series.
