New Mexico saw a slight uptick in COVID-19 cases and infection rate from this past weekend, although hospitalizations remain virtually the same from Friday.

The state Department of Health reported Monday 535 new cases spanning a three-day period, with a test positivity rate of about 3.3 percent. NMDOH also reported 77 people hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19 as of Monday, with eight of those patients on ventilators.

The latest weekend case and test positivity rate numbers both went up compared to the previous weekend, in which 331 cases and a test positivity rate of 2.1 percent were reported on March 28. The latest hospitalization number only went up by one from Friday, but the number of ventilated patients is down from Friday’s total of 13.

The state also added 14 more COVID-19 deaths on Monday.
