COVID-19 cases in New Mexico continue to rise, even though hospitalizations are starting to level off a little bit the last couple days.

The state Department of Health reported a combined 1,633 new COVID-19 cases between Thursday and Friday, with test positivity rates of about 8.4 percent Thursday and about 8.3 percent on Friday. NMDOH also reported a combined 46 COVID-19 deaths between Thursday and Friday.

There are currently 113 people hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19 as of Friday, including 15 patients on ventilators. COVID-19 hospitalizations in the state were at 116 on Wednesday and 109 on Thursday.

Since the start of the pandemic, New Mexico’s tallied 533,867 COVID-19 cases and 7,778 COVID-19 deaths.
