The Sandoval County Fair Board has canceled the fair this year.

A member of the mounted precision and drill organization Westernaires prepares for an evening show at the Sandoval County Fair Grounds in the Village of Cuba last year.

“The safety and health of our fans, families and supporters is our priority” said Timothy Johnson, board president.

Through a collaborative effort of the New Mexico State University Sandoval County Extension office, the 4-H Amigos Junior Livestock Buyers club and the fair board, youth in 4-H and FFA will have the opportunity to participate in virtual livestock shows, small animal shows and indoor exhibits. The virtual shows will take place the week of July 27 and the Virtual 4-H/FFA Junior Livestock Auction on Aug. 1.

All other fair events are canceled. To learn how to participate in the auction, contact Lacey Bendzus at [email protected].
