Sandoval County Public Works Department is closing County Road 11 in Cuba to all traffic at Mile Marker 6 as of Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m., for an undetermined amount of time.
The bridge on this roadway has been identified as unsafe following an inspection by the New Mexico Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration and Sandoval County Public Works.
Barriers preventing travel in this area will be installed Tuesday.
“Sandoval County understands the inconvenience of this closing to its residents and is working with the NM DOT and FHWA to repair this road as quickly as possible,” according to a county press release.
A map has been generated to assist residents and travelers in finding alternate routes. This information will be posted on the Sandoval County website, Nextdoor and other social media.
