At about 4:30 p.m. on Fri. 10/22, officers checking on a report of a suspicious subject in the area of Ashley Lane observed — through a window — an individual matching the description inside of a home.

Officers contacted the resident, who was not aware that the suspect had entered her house, and had her step outside.

The perpetrator, who had stolen several items from inside the home, fled on foot and went into numerous fenced properties in an effort at evading arrest.

The suspect was found in a yard on El Camino Campo and taken into custody by Sandoval County Sheriff’s Deputies and CPD Officers. The 38-year-old male Nashville, Tenn. resident was booked into the Sandoval County Detention Center on charges of residential burglary, criminal trespass and resisting, evading or obstructing officers.

The Corrales PD urges residents to keep calling tips in (9-1-1 for emergencies and 505-898-7585 or 505-891-7226 for non-emergency police assistance),  and please remember to lock your doors and windows whether you’re out or at home to help prevent unlawful entry.
