Gregg Hull
There is no doubt that 2020 was a challenging year. I think all of us can agree, now that 2020 is in the “rear-view mirror,” it is time to look forward to what 2021 will offer.
As I look forward to 2021 for the City of Rio Rancho, I see incredible opportunity and accomplishment on the horizon. All of this gives me a great feeling of hope for our community.
The new year ushers in the 40th anniversary of Rio Rancho becoming a city. I am hopeful we will be able to begin the recovery for our businesses and individuals hit hard by the pandemic. The road will be long, but we will persevere and I believe we will recover stronger than ever before.
I have great optimism looking into 2021, as we will see many wonderful projects come to completion. Just to name a few, Rio Rancho will open a sorely needed second senior center.
The new Campus Park, which will host a variety of outdoor events and concerts, will be completed. A new Orthopedic Center of Excellence beside UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center will expand Rio Rancho’s health care and educational options.
In addition, many roads will be improved, and a new bioscience company, Nature’s Toolbox, will call Rio Rancho home.
I also draw great hope from the members in our community who have continually stepped up to help their neighbors in times of need. I have no doubt that this will continue in 2021.
I have seen great acts of kindness this past year, as Rio Rancho is filled with amazing people who are always willing to give of themselves or their resources to help someone struggling.
I believe 2021 will be a year of renewing our resolve to be the greatest community in the state of New Mexico. I wish everyone a happy and blessed New Year, and to quote the words of Capt. Jack Sparrow, “Bring me that horizon!”
