Editor:

Rio Rancho is the third-largest city in New Mexico.

It is sad that only about 14 percent of our residents came out to vote in our mayoral election that was held March 1.

Of course, Gregg Hull won again. His political signs were all over the city.

The signs for Barbara Jordan were mostly stolen, so many people didn’t even know she was running. She did get 30 percent of the vote, which is pretty good considering.

So now that Gregg Hull continues as our mayor, I hope something can be done about the disaster at the old K-Mart building and the old Rio Rancho golf course. Both places are serious eyesores for our city.

My last comment and question is why the mayoral election for the third-largest city in New Mexico was not given more attention on the local news.
