The city of Rio Rancho has several vacant board and committee seats.
Anyone who is interested must submit an application and résumé online to the city clerk’s office.
Applications can be obtained and completed online at rrnm.gov/applicationform.
Below is a list of current vacancies. Positions will remain open until filled.
Arts Commission: Two seats (City Council districts 2 and 5)
The city is seeking applications from residents with professional experience or knowledge in an art-related discipline.
Capital Improvements Plan Citizen’s Advisory Committee (CIPCAC): Two seats (At-Large and real estate/development)
Seeking applications from residents with and without backgrounds in real estate, development or building industries.
Keep Rio Rancho Beautiful Committee: One seat (City Council District 6)
Seeking applications from residents interested in improving the quality-of-life in the community by focusing specifically on recycling, litter prevention, beautification, environmental education, and solid waste handling practices.
Library Board of Trustees: One seat (At-large)
Seeking applications from residents interested in ensuring the efficient and economical management and operation of the public library.
Lodger’s Tax Advisory Board: Three seats (General public seat, lodging seat and tourism seat)
Seeking applications from residents who are owners or operators of lodgings subject to the occupancy tax with the city or who are owners’ operators of industries located within the city that primarily provide services or products to tourists.
Parks and Recreation Commission: Three seats (Districts 2, 4 and 5)
Seeking applications from residents who are interested in ensuring the efficient, economical, and comprehensive planning of parks and recreation.
Planning and Zoning Board: Four seats (Districts 1, 3 and 4, and at-large)
Seeking applications from residents who are interested in promoting a comprehensive planning process with the general purpose of guiding and accomplishing a coordinated, adjusted, aesthetically appealing and harmonious development of the city.
Public Infrastructure Advisory Board: Four seats (Districts 1, 5 and 6, and at-large)
Seeking applications from residents who are interested in providing input to the Governing Body regarding the proposed annual operating and capital improvement budget in relation to roads, drainage, and the water and wastewater utilities system.
Senior Services Advisory Board: Two seats (Districts 1 and 2)
Seeking applications from residents interested in the efficient and economical management and operation of Rio Rancho’s senior services programs and facilities.
