The city of Rio Rancho’s Financial Services Department announced it has been recognized for the 18th consecutive year with an award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting recognizes the city’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2022.

“In receiving the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, the report had to clearly communicate the city’s financial story and demonstrate full disclosure,” a release on the award states.

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving more than 21,000 elected, appointed and government finance officials throughout North America.
