Rio Rancho City Hall

The City of Rio Rancho’s Financial Services Department was recently honored by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the 16th consecutive year.

The city received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, which recognizes the city’s budget for the current fiscal year that ends on June 30.

Without this wonderful team this award would not be possible, City Director of Financial Services Carole Jaramillo said at last Thursday’s Governing Body meeting.

To receive the award, the budget had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation that includes serving as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device. This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting.

Being good stewards to public funds is a top priority, Mayor Gregg Hull said, adding to Jaramillo and her team, “Congratulations on a job well done.”

GFOA is a professional organization serving more than 21,000 government entities and finance practitioners.
