On Jan. 5, Cielo Azul Elementary School announced to parents and guardians changes to its pick-up and drop-off procedures caused by the extensive construction project on King Blvd.
Five changes were implemented on Jan. 6, including changes to parking procedures, bus routes and pick-up and drop-off spots, to help ease the congestion of traffic leading to the school.
Monday, CAES announced its was making a u-turn and returning to the original traffic pattern and pick-up/drop-off procedures.
The school wrote in an announcement to the CAES community: “Along with the Rio Rancho Police Department, Rio Rancho Public Schools Department of Student Transportation, Rio Rancho Safety and Security, and input from our community it has been determined that we will return to our normal traffic patterns that were set in place at the beginning of the school year. The decision was made to ensure the safety of all families that access Cielo Azul Elementary school.”
