Start-up companies within five industry sectors in New Mexico can apply for business start-up grant money provided by the state’s Economic Development Department, according to a press release.
According to the release, the industries eligible for the grants, which range from $10,000 to $25,000, are aerospace, biosciences, cybersecurity, intelligent manufacturing, sustainable and green energy. Applicants must have fewer than 50 employees and be “potentially high-growth,” per the release.
According to the release, the following guidelines will determine whether an applicant qualifies as high-growth:
· Has a unique product or service
· Has a clear and compelling business proposition
· Has a scalable product and business model
· Has a capable team
· Has the potential to create jobs in New Mexico
· Can bring economic benefit to the state
