Rio Rancho Public Schools has lifted its shelter in place. An update to parents at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday said that buses were starting routes but that parents should expect delays. High school students who drove to school are also allowed to leave.
The district also announced that Wednesday’s open house on high school and middle school social studies instructional materials will be rescheduled due to weather concerns. A new date and time will be sent out when they are determined.

A notification sent to parents at 1:20 p.m. states, “Late start elementary students have been dropped off at their bus stops. All other students will shelter in place at their school until it is safe for buses and students to travel. We are asking parents to avoid travel as well at this time if possible. Please do not come to the school to pick up your child.”
The district said it will continue to send parents updated information.
