The 2023 Mayor’s Sunday is Funday is still several months away, but registration is now open for booths and the kickball tournament.
This year’s Sunday is Funday will be the 18th annual event that brings the community together for an afternoon of fun. It’ll take place on Aug. 20 from noon to 4 p.m. at Haynes Park.
This family event will feature games, music, entertainment, food, vendor booths, a raffle and various activities. The theme this year is Community Unity.
More than 140 vendor booths were on hand in 2022. Several thousand people attended the event in 2022 and more than 6,000 went in 2021.
“Sunday is Funday is a great opportunity to visit with neighbors at this favorite charity event,” Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull wrote in a letter to the community.
Booth fees start at $135 for one space paid for by July 24, and kickball teams enter the tournament for $250, which includes T-shirts for eight members. Admission at the event is $1 and free for children 12 and under.
If you have questions about the event, contact the Rio Rancho Kiwanis Club, Dave Heil ([email protected]) or 505-228-7189.
The Mayor’s Sunday is Funday is sponsored and coordinated by the Rio Rancho Kiwanis Club and Community Service Partners. After paying event expenses, proceeds will benefit youth programs in Rio Rancho.
