The town of Bernalillo will celebrate America’s Independence Day with a mayor’s benefit event on July 1 at Rotary Park.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature water balloons, water slides, hot dogs, hamburgers, live music and more.

The Bernalillo Fire & Rescue will be there with their ladder to add to the fun, and The Triple-X Band will perform live at 1 p.m. The event is family friendly and free.

“Our Fourth of July event is a combined celebration of our blessings to live in the U.S. and a kickoff fundraiser for our annual school supply drive and coats drive for students,” Bernalillo Mayor Jack Torres said. “Our community and community partners generously support these events and have provided coats and school supplies for hundreds of students. We are grateful to live is such a caring community. We also take time to celebrate our country and provide a great time for kids of all ages. We look forward to spending time together July 1st.”
