The Rio Rancho Astronomical Society is set to celebrate Astronomy Day starting at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Rainbow Park Observatory, 301 Southern Blvd.

There will be kids activities, family activities and food for a donation. If the weather permits, the society will offer solar viewing.

At 8 p.m., the space science director for the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, Jim Greenhouse, will share the latest information about the Artemis program’s plans to return people to the Moon. Also, get the details on a total lunar eclipse May 15.
