Albuquerque, NM –Rio Grande Credit Union will host the Annual RGCU Golf Classic on September 23 at Sandia Golf Club and Event Center, located at 30 Rainbow Rd NE in Albuquerque.

The golf tournament will benefit the Domestic Violence Resource Center (DVRC) of New Mexico and include a four-person scramble, lunch, raffle and awards reception.

“Our annual Golf Classic is an incredible time to have some fun and spend a day golfing, while supporting organizations that strengthen and fill vital needs in our community,” said RioGrande Credit Union’s President/CEO Mike Athens. “We’re honored to partner with the DVRC this year. Oftentimes, financial abuse is a component of domestic abuse, and through our partnership, we can help DVRC to empower victims to break this cycle of abuse. We hope all will join us in supporting this important organization.”

In 2021, Rio Grande Credit Union hosted the most successful Golf Classic to date, awarding two organizations with $15,000 each.

“Last year was a record year for us, allowing us to raise $30,000 for local organizations, and we look forward to another banner year in 2022,” added Athens.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. on September 23, and golfing begins at 8 a.m. Registration is open for golfers and includes a yearlong subscription to Golf Digest. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and RGCU is accepting raffle prize donations.
