A Rio Rancho homebuilding company took three awards recently in the Parade of Homes.
The Home Builders Association of Central New Mexico began the Parade of Homes in 1990 to celebrate projects in the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho areas.
This year, Amreston Homes took a premier award, as well as best bath and kitchen for its Aspen floor plan. The floor plan is about 1,200 square feet and has two levels with a two-car garage for less than $214,000.
The company was launched in August 2019, and it is Amreston’s first time competing. During the company’s first six months, it established a dedicated team and implemented building processes with construction and management software, said the Amreston Homes Division President Brian Earnest.
“Winning the Premier, Best Kitchen and Best Bath awards for our category with our first build as a company was a fantastic testament to the efforts made by everyone involved,” he said.
The Aspen floor plan is being featured in the subdivision Moonlight Hills near Meadows Boulevard and Cherry Road.
“It is fantastic. All of our employees are local to Albuquerque or Rio Rancho,” Earnest said. “And we are really excited to be able to produce something that did not have any corporate mandates or is from other areas of the country.”
Being local has allowed him and his team to create something with more colors and reflect Rio Rancho better, he said.
“While I have enjoyed every moment, I can attest that it is a monumental task to build a production homebuilding entity from the ground up,” he said.
Construction on the 12-lot building site began in March and is slated to be complete in July. The entirety of the subdivision has been sold, Earnest said.
According to a report from the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors, during the third fiscal quarter for 2020, homes were on the market for an average of 18.5 days in Rio Rancho.
Earnest said there are more communities being developed by Amreston. For more information, visit amreston.com.
