Alzheimer’s Association Program Manager Craig Coleman will give a speech about the importance of noticing the warning signs of Alzheimer’s at the Placitas Community Library on August 23.

“Worldwide, 55 million people are living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias,” Marlane Barton wrote in a press release.

Coleman will describe the common warning signs of Alzheimer’s, which is the most common form of dementia. He will explain the importance of detecting the disease early on, provide resources that are available for the Alzheimer’s Association and discuss healthy living for the brain and body.

The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Gracie Lee Room at the Placitas Community Library. For more information about the disease, visit
