A-Z Therapy Services, a center for comprehensive therapy solutions, celebrated its grand opening Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by community leaders, health care professionals and local residents.

Located at 701 Unser Blvd. SE (Suite #9), A-Z Therapy Services offers an extensive array of services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and mental health counseling. The center is committed to providing personalized and compassionate care to individuals of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Anthony Gustamantes, a certified occupational therapy assistant at A-Z, expressed his excitement and dedication to the residents of Rio Rancho at the ribbon cutting.

“I’m very excited to be a part of the community. I’ve been in this community for the past 17 years, and I love the people here. I love the community a lot,” Gustamantes said. “And I’m looking forward to helping and supporting all the children and adults who need the assistance and getting back on their feet, gaining their independence and just kind of providing support to families and children in all their different occupations.”

Specializing in autism and occupational therapy, A-Z Therapy Services is designed to make life enjoyable by addressing the basic activities of daily living.

The facility boasts a sensory-motor gym equipped for refining foundational skills, self-regulation and practicing executive functioning skills. A-Z Therapy Services incorporates play-based interventions in their treatments, addressing goals in areas such as fine/visual motor development, sensory-motor skills, sensory processing and executive functioning.

“Our mission is to provide quality, competent and affordable therapy sessions for the residents of the community,” Gustamantes said. “By creating a warm and caring environment for our patients/clients, employees and staff, we provide learning and growth opportunities through academic and educational relationships.”

Local community leaders, including Mayor Gregg Hull, County Commissioner Michael Meek, City Councilor Nicole List and Rio Rancho Reginal Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Jerry Schalow, were in attendance Wednesday and praised the establishment for its commitment to enhancing the overall health and well-being of the community.

“We’re just so grateful for your investment in Rio Rancho. We’re thankful that you did choose Rio Rancho to invest your dollars in and become a part of an amazing community,” Hull said. “Not only is Rio Rancho an amazing community to live in, it’s also an amazing community for business. So you’re gonna find a lot of support from all the businesses around you. The chamber, the city, the city councilors, the county commissioners are all here because we’re here to celebrate your success. We’re here to celebrate your first step because the ribbon cutting is not the finish line, it’s the starting line. So we’re gonna get you off and running and hope that you are just as successful as you can possibly be, not only for yourself, but for your families and for the community.”

A-Z Therapy Services accepts most major insurance carriers, ensuring accessibility for a broad range of clients. The center encourages those in need of occupational therapy services to take the first step towards a better life by reaching out for more information.
