Dark storm clouds descended on Rio Rancho Friday afternoon, as some precipitation is projected to arrive soon.
The Sandia Mountains, overlooking NM 528, started fading into the mist just after 1:30 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service’s website, there will be a 50 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. Friday. Less than 0.1 inches of rain is expected, and scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue into tonight and into the wee hours of Saturday morning.
Despite a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday afternoon, it’s projected to be mostly sunny with a high temperature near 91 degrees.
