The four newly elected or re-elected Rio Rancho city councilors took their oaths of office Wednesday night.
Because of social-distancing requirements in the COVID-19 pandemic, the public wasn’t invited to the ceremony in City Hall, but it was live-streamed via multiple online platforms.
Taking the oath of office were:
• Jim Owen, re-elected in District 1;
• Jeremy Lenentine, elected to the District 2 seat he was appointed to fill when the previous city councilor moved away part-way through her term;
• Paul Wymer, the new District 4 city councilor; and
• Dan Stoddard, the new District 6 city councilor.
The next Rio Rancho Governing Body meeting is Wednesday at 6 p.m. The public can attend but is encouraged to watch via live-streaming at rrnm.gov.
